WALA: the Treaty of Waitangi.

Treaty of Waitangi
Rico: I think we should celebrate the Treaty of Waitangi because if they hadn't have signed the Treaty there would be no nation called New Zealand. The country probably would have been taken over by  France. Plus it is nice to show your respect for the Maori that let us upon this land. This is why we should celebrate Waitangi day.

Marshall: I think the they should celebrate the Treaty of Waitangi because the Maori looked after  us because they looked after the Pakeha and us. we should be nice to them because they could save us or we could save them.talk to the Pakeha to sort things out to celebrate the Maori and the Pakeha and New Zealand to celebrate.

Tamati:I think they should celebrate the Treaty  because we only have like spares, taiaha we need the British gun  that will help us a lot. if we didn’t sign this Treaty would be died and there would be no such thing as New Zealand. This is why we should celebrate the Treaty of Waitangi.

Should we call it New Zealand day instead?

Some people think we should call Waitangi Day, New Zealand Day because a new country was formed by the treaty. It is called New Zealand day because people from different cultures come together to make one country named New Zealand. We should be celebrating New Zealand not looking back to a treaty that has caused arguments.
